Switching characters
Why isn't there a better way of switching characters to play? Having to log out and then back in each time is very annoying.
Has a reason ever been given defending this method? Is a better, simpler method being worked on? |

I solved this problem by putting in a simple line in the shortcut..
Make a shortcut/quicklaunch logo for your GW, then right click on it and open the menu where you can change destination ;[ Edit the line to this.. "C:\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -email "[email protected]" -password "password-here" Then, when you want to switch characters, just press F12 - ok.. then let it login on your account by itself. |

But that's dangerous having your password in plain view like that even if no one else uses your computer.

There has been an explanation, and the reason is that it prevents people from hacking their characters, because the characters are hosted on A.nets servers and not your PC, you must log out of the game to change them.

Not really. If someone wants your account that badly they dont need to get it from a stored location. In fact, right now im in a network+ class, there are easy ways to watch people on their network. If I was in your computer in the first place, not having your password saved isnt going to save you Enjoy, Jodie |
